I agree with the last comment, over priced food. The beers are average for a brewpub, but the place just doesn't do anything new for the micro movement. The restaurant seems very trendy, and overdone. An out of proportion aviation theme to go with the nearby mini-airport. (Date added: 10/22/97) Neat building on the outside, dark inside. Overpriced food. Based on the food and the beer brewed on premise here, I really like this pub. I agree with Jeff Scott that the place is yuppie-ish but that term describes the Blue Ash area. The food is excellent (I really like the Chicken Fajita salad) and I felt the New Zealand Dark is done well for the style - it's not too heavy like a porter or stout but has a smooth flavor that goes well with food. I haven't tried the Golden Ale but it looks REALLY light - a good transistion beer for you unholy Budweiser fans! When the restaurant first opened, we brewed only one original beer, now several are brewed on premise, including the popular recipes from the Main Street Brewery with several twists from our head brewer, Jim Strelau. Woody's American Wheat, Over-the-Rhine Raz', and Cyclones Red Ale are all brewed on premise, in addition to Toby's New Zealand Dark. Guest beers from our sister companies, the Main Street Brewery and the Main Street Brewing Co. include: Honey Blonde, Main Street Pale Ale, Abigail's Amber, and Steamboat Stout. Mr. Strelau has brewed several seasonals including an Octoberfest and a spicy Holiday Ale. Look for his upcoming Bock beer. Restaurant is upscale with full menu, lodge like details, aviation theme, largest outdoor dining also lakeside views, wonderful suburban atmosphere, live music, great happy hours. Sister location to Main Street. This place serves most of Main Street's beers and one original. This rating is only on the original beer. The one that I had was a 'tribute' beer to the Cincinnati Cyclones (IHL Hockey team). It was a boring amber beer with little flavor. Supposedly served at the hockey games so probably made for the masses. If you are coming here, try the other Main Street beers like the Stout. Food is also pretty good, but the place is also kind of yuppie-ish too. |
