Crooked River is the best microbrew I've ever tasted.
In addition to the excellent year-round standby's, such as Lighthouse Gold or Settlers Ale, the brewery has great seasonal offerings that are out of this world. My personal favorites are the Irish Red and the Pumpkin Ale. Many places focus on the atmosphere, it is useful in distracting a customer from the frequent mediocrity of the offered product. Crooked River focus on what's important, the product, which is their beer. They succeed with flying colors.

Horrible brews from a brewery with no imagination or soul. Settlers Ale and Porter are frequently heavy on the diacetyl! Avoid like the plague -- YIKES!

(Editor's Note: The above comment is from a competing brewer -- take it with a grain of salt -- we are not saying that it is invalid, but in the fairness of disclosure, this should be known) (Date added: 3/28/98)

A brewpub for people who are more interested in the beer, rather than the ambiance. A simple room, right off the brewery. Painter cinder block walls, and a full bar. High top tables and peanuts, no fancy food menu to get in the way of great beer. A very knowledgable staff about their product and upcoming brews and events. The Black Forest lager, Lighthouse Gold, Porter, and seasonal brews like Pumpkin Ale and Yuletide Ale are all outstanding. There is a reason that this is the only microbrew available at Jacobs Field. Not the place to spend the whole evening in Cleveland's Flats district. But certainly worth as stop as you make your way from the east bank to the west. (Date added: 1/24/98)
