I stumbled upon this brew pub just after it first opened (two years ago) while travelling in Princeton. I have returned four times since. The staff is very friendly and well informed about the beers they serve, although service is typically college town sporadic. The pub occupies three floors of an old building on Princeton's main (and historic) shopping street, immediately across from the Princeton University Campus. The architecture is far and away the best of any brew pub I have visited and is a miix of 1700's warehouse and 1990's modernism. The food is equally eclectic and ranges from basic bar fare to moderately daring California fusion cuisine. All the meals I have had there were very good and I would rate the food a 3.5 - 4.0. There are always six or so beers available with four regulars and two or three seasonal or "special" brews. The brews available when I have been there have not been daring, but they are very solid examples of each variety offe! red. There is also a good selection of single-malts and upper-end bourbons. There is often a small live band performing in the evenings and the crowd is a dynamic mix of college students and locals. Things seem to liven up after 9:00PM. I have been to this bar by myself, with my wife, and with business associates- and I have had a wonderful experience every time. Walk the campus and work up a thirst and then stop in - you won't be disappointed. (Date added: 11/25/97)
