I have visited this place four times, since they started brewing their own beer and the beer started out very good and has taken a dramtic turn for the worse. It is now some of the worst beer I have ever tasted. This is amazing for a place that is supposed to be a Brewpub !! The beer is completely undrinkable and I find it hard to beleive that the brewer would allow it to be sold. (Date added: 6/19/98)

I stopped in here while driving through downtown Mt. Airy just to see what the place was like. Nice decor, but the beer was awful!! Gaaaagggggh!!!!!!! i ordered the sampler and the diacyl smell was so overpowering it almost knocked me off the bar! i tried 2 out of the five and ended up sending the rest back in disgust. The worst beer i have ever run into anywhere, in a pub or off the shelf.I'm amazed they actually served it to me, it tastes like it was brewed in an old septic tank. (Date added: 6/19/98)

Not worth your time. Located in the downtown area of Mt. Airy. Went there for lunch one Sat. afternoon they were not busy but the service was horrible ! start. We tried the red marzen, piney run porter, honey amber, and bitter Three of the four were undrinkable due to contamination or poor brewing procedures. The food was ok at best but took forever to get. No atmosphere, place seemed very dull. Definitely won't be back (Date added: 2/10/98)

The food ( Brewers burger) was mediocre and a little overpriced.
the wheat beer had light banana and clove flavors, but was very good; similar to clipper city's wheat.
this contrasted sharply with the backdraft bitter and piney run porter, both of which were diacyl, unbalanced and in the case of the porter; -possibly contaminated.
i don't think i have seen such a striking variation in beer quality in any other pub. Very strange. (Date added: 12/15/97)

Date of visit was 8/10/97. Eat a Peach wheat was ok, peach perhaps a bit too subtle. Backdraft Bitter was slightly unbalanced. Not the worst beer we've had though! (Date added: 11/13/97)

Food is mediocre and way overpriced.
Owner has no personality and is a snob.
Happy hour is pathetic and ends very early.
Atmosphere is dull and quite boring.
The beer that is brewed there is not good. (Date added: 8/5/97)
